Mark grew up in Idaho, where he gained a deep love for skiing. After spending some time in the Army he wanted to get back to the mountains. He first started backcountry skiing in Utah in 2017 and hasn’t looked back. After getting a bachelor’s in Geography and GIS from Utah State University he moved north to Alaska. This is where he spent time working on an Outdoor Studies and Leadership certificate from the University of Alaska Southeast. In the summer, Mark is a cartographer and trails crew member for Trail Mix Inc. In the winter, he works as a ski patroller at Eaglecrest Ski Area and for Alaska Powder Descents as a heli ski guide. He enjoys teaching skiing newcomers and just being out in the snow. When not working or recreating outside, Mark is also a leathercraft hobbyist, working on his brand Glacier Leather Goods.
