Heather moved to Alaska in 2014 in pursuit of snowy mountains and a chance to escape the flat farm fields of central Wisconsin. Learning to ski on icy Midwest ski hills and on the lake effect snow at Mount Bohemia, it didn’t take her long to appreciate the amazing backcountry conditions of Southcentral Alaska. She has taken her Level 1 and Level 2 Avalanche courses with the AAS and is looking forward to continuing to advance her avalanche education.

Prior to moving to Alaska, Heather taught middle and high school physical education. The summer months, between school years, allowed her the opportunity to gain widespread experiences in the nonprofit sector. Now with over 10-years of nonprofit experience, Heather previously worked for a local nonprofit planning to execute four to six figure fundraising events throughout Anchorage and the state of Alaska.
