Born and reared in Talkeetna, Alaska, Gabby has missed out on every possible opportunity to become impervious to the fascination of all things river, mountain, and backwoods. She grew up being hurdled down Talkeetna Mountain sastrugi by her father, and has been spooked on many a fresh water stream around her home state. Leaving the nest, Gabby earned a degree in Environmental Science at APU, with a minor & focus in Mathematics. For the past 3 years, she has called the Kahiltna Glacier her summer home while taking over the Denali Basecamp Manager post. When she is not listening to airplanes buzz overhead, she enjoys nerding out over snow and atmospheric physics, re-reading The River Why, and annoying her dog, Kozu, with a kazoo.
