Recreational / Level 2+/ Kenai Fjords / March 23-28, 2024

Location: Kenai Fjords, AK

Alaska Avalanche School is partnering with Alaska Surf Guides to offer a 6-day Level 2+ course. This boat based adventure will travel from Seward into Resurrection Bay to Aialik Bay, NW Lagoon and possibly Montague Island in Prince William Sound. All students and staff will live aboard one of two ships on this all-inclusive trip where all meals and field transportation is included. You and your instructors will cover an A3 certified Level 2 curriculum and additionally address topics such as expedition planning, traveling in unforecasted avalanche terrain, and have extensive practical work in tour planning. Each evening students will work with your instructors and boat captains on the next day’s trip planning and mapping skills.

Operating under a special use permit with the Chugach National Forest and a Commercial Use Authorization with Kenai Fjords National Park.

This rigorous course is designed for experienced skiers and splitboarders with a Level 1 certification. You will review rescue training and scenarios on day 1 of this course meeting or exceeding A3 standards.

Pre-course study materials will be shared via Google Classroom once you have been admitted into the course.
