Pat is a retired Air Force Pararescueman as well as a former Denali Climbing Ranger and Alyeska Ski Patroller. Pat was introduced to backcountry skiing when he moved to Alaska in 2012 and was immediately absorbed by the mountains. He has a wide range of experience in avalanche terrain and is able to see avalanche awareness through the lens of a mountain professional and as somebody just trying to have a good time. He loves to teach and challenge students to think about why they want to access hazardous terrain.
