Chris grew up skiing the deep powder of the Connecticut foothills and adventuring in New England. After graduating from the United States Coast Guard Academy and driving ships for the Coast Guard, he decided to switch it up and work full-time in the outdoor industry. Since 2009 he has worked mountaineering, winter, sailing, and leadership courses for NOLS, mostly in Alaska. After spending every summer since 2009 in Alaska, Chris became a year round resident in 2019, first moving to Kodiak and then Anchorage. He has worked for the Avalanche School since 2022.
