Our Staff & Board
Andy Moderow served on the AAS Board from 2013 - 2022, and recently returned in 2024 for more! He has been a frequent public observer and volunteer with the Chugach National Forest Avalanche Center over the years, and he was an intern with the Chugach center during the 2021-2022 season. As an adjunct, he taught Snow Science I at Alaska Pacific University in 2023, and he also received the 2023 Silver SAAW award recognizing volunteer contributions to the Alaska avalanche community. On top of his interest in snow, he brings non-profit management experience to the board, along with great familiarity of Alaska Avalanche School course offerings - from the course consumer perspective - over the years.
