Tye Chikigak-Steadman

Tye is a lifelong Alaskan raised on Montana Creek, near the small community of Talkeetna. He grew up riding snowmachines as a main form of transportation and a useful tool for hauling firewood or packing trails. He quickly learned they are also a great way to access the vast Alaskan backcountry. Living and working full time in Palmer, Tye takes advantage of having Hatcher Pass in his back yard. When he’s not volunteering to help groom and maintain the motorized use corridor he’s most likely exploring deep in the mountains. Tye has completed a Level 1 motorized specific course and looks forward to furthering his avalanche education in the future. Tye enjoys the relationships he has built while recreating in the backcountry and loves meeting new people out in the mountains.
