Heidi Nixon

Born and raised in Canada, Heidi moved to Southeast Alaska in 2020 to work as a Therapeutic Recreation Wilderness Guide, spending multiple months at a time paddling the Inside Passage with Alaskan youth-at-risk.  She works for the National Outdoor Leadership School in their winter, sea kayak and hike programs. She has a Pro 1, a WFR, is an AIARE instructor and a Sitka Search and Rescue team member. The majority of her avalanche training took place in the Coast Mountains of British Columbia and Rocky Mountains of Alberta.
