Brock Roden

Brock developed a love for all things outdoors from growing up in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina, to include skiing, which has been his longest running favorite sport. The mystery seed of Alaska was planted in him as a young boy. As an adult he took the opportunity he’d been looking for and moved to Anchorage in 2013 to be a member of a search and rescue team locally known as “the PJs.” Working as a professional rescue expert he learned about the dangers of moving in the mountains and continues to learn more about managing risks and loves to share this knowledge with others.
In addition to spending his time backcountry skiing, he enjoys backcountry skiing and loves backcountry skiing. He also enjoys rock climbing, ice climbing, hunting, and playing the banjo.
He is certified as PSIA Level 1 Ski Instructor, Avalanche Level I & II, Rigging for Rescue Technician in snow/rock/ice, and a Wilderness EMT.
