Participants can expect a review of the following skills:

  • Transceiver use and practice
  • Terrain analysis
  • Snow stability evaluation
  • Decision-making
  • Route selection and travel procedures

Prerequisites: Participants must have already completed a Level 1 class. Submit your previous certification by emailing it to info@alaskaavalanche.org

Prior to the start of the course, students should re-read Avalanche Essentials and/or Staying Alive in Avalanche Terrain, track Turnagain Pass area weather, and come to the workshop prepared with specific questions and areas of focus.
