This workshop reviews Level 1 curriculum and is meant for backcountry users who have received some avalanche safety training but are not interested in repeating the full Level 1 course. The classroom session at AAS offices in Anchorage precedes a full day in the field (specific locations chosen based on conditions at the time of the course). Participants can expect review of the following skills:
Prerequisites: Participants must have already completed a Level 1 class. Prior to the start of the course, students should re-read Avalanche Essentials and/or Staying Alive in Avalanche Terrain, track Turnagain Pass area weather, and come to the workshop prepared with specific questions and areas of focus.
